Most volumes open at 10PM. Each event page lists the exact time, and times can change, so check it before you head out.

Yes. Every CATEGORY event is 21+, and every guest needs a valid government-issued photo ID at the door. No exceptions. If you can't show valid ID, you won't be let in and your ticket won't be refunded. See Terms, Section 2.

Our themes aren't a dress code. They're an invitation. How you interpret them is up to you. There's no right or wrong, there's only you.

Yes. Our resident editorial photographer shoots looks all night. Arrive early: the first to serve is the first snapped. By entering, you agree to be photographed, filmed, and recorded for CATEGORY's use. See Terms, Section 8.

Each volume's venue is listed on its event page. Some volumes keep the exact address private until the day of the event. When that's the case, ticket holders get it on the day by email (and by text if you've opted in), and we post it on Instagram. Venue details can change, so confirm before you go.

Some volumes keep the exact address private until the day of the event. When that's the case, we send it to every ticket holder on the day via the email connected with their ticketing account, via SMS if they have opted in to texts, and via our social accounts.

Only through the official ticket links on this site, which go to our official ticketing partner for that event (Tixr or Universe). Tickets bought anywhere else aren't guaranteed and may be void. When two volumes are on sale, each has its own ticket link. See all upcoming events.

All ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges, with one exception:

• If we cancel an event outright with no new date, you get a full refund, automatically, to the card you paid with. You don't need to do anything.

Tickets are not refunded for:

• A change of plans, the weather, arriving late, or leaving early
• Lineup changes, including headliners, or changes to the time or venue
• A postponement. Your ticket is honored on the new date.
• Being refused entry without valid 21+ government-issued photo ID, or with a fraudulent or altered ticket
• Being removed for breaking the house rules, the law, or venue policy
• A ticket cancelled for resale above face value or outside Tixr or Universe
• A ticket bought from anyone other than Tixr or Universe or its official resale tool

If we postpone, your ticket is honored on the new date, and there's no refund. Lineups, set times, and venue details can change without notice, including headliners, and those changes aren't refundable. Only an outright cancellation with no new date is refunded, automatically. See Terms, Section 6.

Yes, but only through the official transfer and resale tools of the platform you bought on (Tixr or Universe), and only at face value. Selling above face value or anywhere else (StubHub, Craigslist, social media) is prohibited, and those tickets may be cancelled without a refund. See Terms, Section 5.

Strict zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, ageism, or discrimination of any kind. Consent is mandatory. No means no. Take chit-chat and smoking outside. Hydrate and look out for each other. No illegal substances, weapons, or outside alcohol, and you may be searched at entry per venue policy. Breaking the rules can get you refused entry or removed without a refund. See Terms, Section 7.
